With its thirty kilometres long sandy beach, Texel is a true paradise for beach lovers.
In addition, Texel has a lot more to offer, for example, the seven villages and the unique nature reserves.
De Cocksdorp is located on the northernmost tip of Texel, near the beautiful bright red lighthouse and the unique bird area. The historic villages of Oosterend and De Waal are very charming and idyllic. The harbour town of Oudeschild on the Waddenzee is highly recommended, with its fishing boats and windmill. Den Burg is the largest village and is located approximately in the middle of the island. De Koog is the only village on the island that is located directly on the North Beach. Den Hoorn is the most southern village on the island of Texel and is known for its romantic church, the surrounding tulip fields and its cultural events.
Texel is easily accessible from Den Helder by ferry the crossing to the island takes only twenty minutes!

Seals are not that hard to find around Terschelling. The beautiful nature, the clean water, the environment and the peace and quiet have a positive influence on the seals and therefore large seal colonies live off the coast. They laze a lot on the beach and on the sandbanks where they enjoy the sun. And with a bit of luck, porpoises can be spotted from the air (The smallest type of whale that has about the size of a dolphin). A good way to spot these animals is by plane!

Texel became an island in 1170 when it was separated from the mainland by the All Saints' Flood. The landscape on Texel is very different from that of the other Wadden islands. The other Wadden islands mainly consist of sand and dune areas. After the Ice Age, a thick boulder clay layer remained on Texel, making the soil much more fertile and allowing the land to develop differently. Fly with us and discover this beautiful island!

On the island of Vlieland, the wind and drifting sand create permanent dynamics. This is best seen on the south side of the Vliehors. Salt marshes and new dunes arise in the shelter of a few large drift dunes. Throughout the year there are sand drifts due to the wind, causing dunes to appear and disappear again. It never looks the same here. Be enchanted by the charm of this island!

The earliest signs for the emergence of the Wadden island of Ameland arose after the last ice age. The temperature rose, the ice caps melted, the sea level rose and for our environment, it mainly meant that the North Sea advanced towards our country. Ameland consists of three islands that have grown together. The islands were connected by the construction of drift dikes in the 19th century. Fly with us to this unique island!
