Elburg

Elburg

Like Harderwijk and Kampen, Elburg is one of the Hanseatic cities,

small settlement towns on the Veluwemeer and the Drontermeer. A walk through the streets of Elburg takes anyone back in time between historic facades along the canal in the middle of the city centre. Visit 't oude Regthuys and enjoy a drink on the terrace in the sun. Complete a trip to Elburg by renting a botter (a dutch type of sailing boat) and going sailing for a day and spending the night on this special boat. Or visit the baker's mill or enjoy a day at the Rijsgaardhoeve, the local wellness spa that also has a hotel.

Lelystad Airport

Take a flight above Dutch history and discover the locations where the Dutch caused a lot of commotion during the 400-year Golden Age! When Amsterdam and Rotterdam were still small villages in the Middle Ages, the Hanseatic cities in the east of the Netherlands had already developed into powerful trading centres. About 200 Hanseatic cities worked together within a European Union for four hundred years. Most of the trade went by water with the first cargo ships from the Middle Ages. From Lelystad we fly along a number of the historic Hanseatic cities such as Elburg, Kampen, Zwolle, Hasselt, Harderwijk and Hattem.
