A Cape Town helicopter tour is Table Mountain beside you, the Atlantic beaches below, and — on the longer flights — False Bay and Cape Point in the same run. From the V&A Waterfront you leave the harbour and the City Bowl opens: Lion’s Head, Clifton, Camps Bay, the Twelve Apostles. You do not fly over the flat top of Table Mountain; you see it from the seaboard. That coastal frame is why you book.
Atlantic seaboard first — False Bay and Cape Point when you go longer
The 12-minute City Hopper is the short Atlantic loop: Cape Town Stadium, Lion’s Head, Clifton, and Camps Bay with Table Mountain in view — it does not go to Hout Bay. The 18–20-minute Atlantic Coast run continues past Llandudno and the Twelve Apostles to a turn at Hout Bay and Karbonkelberg. The 25-minute Two Oceans flight crosses the peninsula toward False Bay (Fish Hoek, Muizenberg, Constantia from the air) but does not reach Cape Point; a complimentary harbour cruise follows. The 45–48-minute Full Peninsula goes to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, then home via False Bay — also with the harbour cruise. Penguins at Boulders Beach are a maybe, not a promise, and you do not land at the lighthouse.
Fly Over The World’s Cape Town location hub lists four shared flights with Cape Town Helicopters from the V&A Waterfront Helistop, 36 East Pier Road, behind the Table Bay Hotel. Check in 30 minutes early. Bring photo ID. Seats are set for weight and balance; no handbags in the cabin (lockers are free). Hotel pickup is included on some tickets. Timing varies with weather — the operator flies the route.

Before you go
Check in 30 minutes before at the V&A helipad. There is no minimum age; a child over 2 needs their own seat, and infants sit on an adult’s lap. Most flights need a minimum of two guests (City Hopper can take a solo traveller on a shared flight when a seat is open). Provide accurate dressed weights when you book — an upgrade surcharge can apply.
Free cancellation is currently up to 24 hours before departure; no-shows and changes inside 24 hours are charged in full. If the operator cancels for weather, you are rebooked or refunded as shown when you book. Peninsula weather can scrub a slot, so book toward the start of your stay if you can.
Book the length that reaches the ocean you came for
Take the City Hopper for the short Atlantic postcard. Stretch to the Atlantic Coast run for Hout Bay. Choose Two Oceans when False Bay matters. Book the Full Peninsula when Cape Point is the point. From the air, mountain and two oceans belong to one city.
