The Noordoostpolder is filled with beautiful and unique sights.
The former peninsula Oud-Kraggenburg used to be a shelter for ships during occurring storms. The Rotterdam corner, that was built with the remains of the rubble of the once bombed-out Rotterdam. Take a peek into the past at the rock garden that is full of boulders dating back 200,000 years from the second to last ice age. And the UNESCO world heritage island of Schoklan, a small island that still rises above the polder landscape. Lastly, the Noordoostpolder is also home to the very last ship graveyard of The Netherlands which has resulted in some interesting local ghost stories as well.
