The Serra de Tramuntana is Mallorca’s long mountain spine along the northwest of the island — ridges, terraces and high slopes that frame many inland views. From valley roads you see one ridge at a time. From a hot air balloon over the centre and east of Mallorca the range may appear as a distant wall when the wind carries you that way. Plan on about three to four hours for the full experience, from €189 per person, shared with up to 15 in the basket. You meet at the Balloon Airport near Manacor; the pilot follows the wind. Named sights are views you may see rather than a fixed overflight. Mountain views toward the Serra sit among possible sights alongside the Pla de Mallorca plain.
Private options cover the same honesty rules. Do not expect a close ridge hop or a hover over a named peak. Some mornings the balloon stays over east-island country toward Capdepera or Felanitx hills around Sant Salvador, with the Serra only a haze on the far side. On clear days you may also see neighbour islands such as Cabrera — again may-see only.
Meet at the Balloon Airport on the MA-15 (Palma–Manacor) at exit 44 near Manacor — the site sits at the junction (look for the balloon-airport sign). Check in at the desk in the building. Exact meeting time is confirmed the day before your flight. Hotel transfer is not included; make your own way. An optional transfer may be available for an extra charge if arranged in advance. Shared sunrise flights hold up to 15 passengers in the basket. Minimum age 4. On the shared sunrise flight, children 4–11 are priced as children; adults are 12 and over. An adult must book.
