Helicopter
Begin with a thrilling helicopter flight to Lake George Glacier, where the colossal 100ft ice wall will leave you in awe as it actively calves right before your eyes. Capture the moment and explore the massive ice during a half-hour landing. Next, ascend to a remote alpine peak for a breathtaking birds-eye view of Knik Glacier, flanked by Colony and Cataract glaciers across Lake George. Keep an eye out for bears, moose, and Dall sheep while soaring high. Finally, land at the azure melt pools in the heart of Knik Glacier for a fascinating insight into glacier life cycles and their global significance. Safely explore the glacier for another half-hour with your experienced pilot/guide, and don't forget to fill your water bottle with that pristine glacier water (summer*)! WINTER (September 20 - May 1) *During the winter months, the Glacier Landing is not on top (due to the snow cover) but next to the glacier. There are no blue melt pools (these are frozen).
