The hotel is situated on an artificial island just off the coast of Dubai and is connected to the mainland by a private bridge.

The Burj al Arab features 202 luxurious suites, each with a private reception area, dining room, and lounge. The suites are among the most expensive in the world, with some featuring private pools and outdoor terraces. The hotel also offers a range of amenities and services, including a spa, fitness centre, and several fine dining restaurants.

The hotel, which is known for its impressive architecture, was designed by architect Tom Wright and was completed in 1999. It stands at a height of 321 meters, making it the fourth tallest hotel in the world.
