Iceland is the least populated country in Europe, with a pure, unpolluted and somewhat magical landscape. Summers are amazingly warm, rich and green. The summer days get longer and longer, until midsummer, when the sun just hits the horizon but never really sets. In winter you can admire the amazing green, blue, yellow and pink light waves of the Northern Lights and it is less cold than you might think. Think of Iceland and there are several familiar associations: hip Reykjavík, the beautiful therapeutic Blue Lagoon, or perhaps the musical exports Björk or Sigur Rós. This land of boiling mud pools, spurting geysers, glaciers and waterfalls is an adventure playground. Its breathtaking landscape is an inspiration to many and worth to discover.
Reykjavik Airport
A short-and-sweet exploration of Reykjavik's vibrant cityscape and the mountains that surround the world’s northernmost capital. As we take off smoothly from the airport, you'll see how quickly the city gets smaller and smaller beneath us. Enjoy the beautiful sight of the vast blue ocean that hugs the city shore and catch sight of the small islands scattered in the distance. From above you'll gaze over quaint and colourful settlements that sprawl out in the distance and into the vast Arctic and beyond.
Reykjavik Airport
This tour will leave you feeling more acquainted to Reykjavik and Iceland and it's majestic landscape. We fly over Reykjavik's vibrant city and the mountains that surround the world’s northernmost capital. Land on a nearby summit where you'll have the chance to capture a silent panorama of the vast blue ocean that hugs the city shore and catch sight of the small islands scattered in the distance. You'll see the crumbling mountains behind you that, with their grandeur, might simply take your breath away... as well as the steaming volcanic hillsides that give this “Smokey Bay” its nickname. From the top of the mountain you'll gaze over quaint and colourful settlements that sprawl out in the distance and into the vast Arctic and beyond. The total duration of the tour is 40-45 minutes. 15-20 minute guided helicopter flight and a 15 minute landing on a nearby mountain.
Reykjavik Airport
On our most spectacular tour we overfly Þórsmörk Nature Reserve and land on Fimmvörðuháls's volcanic crater. We also fly above the infamous, and now dormant, Eyjafjallajökull Glacier Volcano whose eruption in 2010 became global news. From the top we head down its glacier tongue Gígjökull, that was split in half by hot melting lava. And if we're lucky we might even catch a glimpse of Iceland's most active volcano- Hekla, and the Westman Islands. En route back to Reykjavik we follow the black lava sand beach that stretches hundreds of kilometers along the South Coast of Iceland. The black sand beach is a vast expanse of volcanic material laid bare by the endless tides of the ocean. As we continue back to Reykjavík we soar over lava fields, explore craters, and fly over the Hengill geothermal area to get a better idea of how power plants harness geothermal heat to provide clean, sustainable energy. The total duration of the tour is 2-2,5 hours. 80-120 minute guided helicopter flight and a 15 minute landing at a scenic location.
