A luscious green forest where a staircase cut from the mountain leads you to the pinnacle
Floresta da Tijuca belongs to the National Park of Tijuca which is located in the city of Rio de Janeiro and is characterized by its beautiful green forests. The total area of this area is 32km2. Tourists can climb the Pico da Tijuca here, the last part of this walk consists of a staircase of no less than 120 steps. This staircase was carved out of the rock for the visit of King Albert I of Belgium because the president of Brazil knew that the king was an avid hiker. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the valley, the city and the ocean on the horizon.
