Sagrada Família to Montserrat: Choosing Your Barcelona Helicopter Tour

A Barcelona helicopter tour lifts off from the port and puts the city under you in as little as seven minutes: Port Vell and the coast first, then on the Sky flights the Sagrada Família, Montjuïc and Camp Nou, and on the two longest private flights the mountain of Montserrat, inland from the city.

All seven flights on the Barcelona hub leave from the same place, the Heliport del Port de Barcelona. What changes is how far inland you go. Decide whether the coast is enough, whether you want the basilica and the hills, or whether the mountain is the point, and the right ticket follows.

The shared Barcelona helicopter tours: coast or city

If the Sagrada Família is why you are booking, the shared Sky ticket is the cheapest way to see it from the air. Neither shared flight goes out to Montserrat.

Private Barcelona flights: the helicopter to yourselves

Private tickets are priced for up to three passengers. The coastal ones fly daily. The private Sky flight over the city flies Friday to Sunday only, for up to five.

Montserrat by helicopter from Barcelona

Two private flights carry on inland to Montserrat and back to the port. Both are scenic flights only: you do not land at the monastery.

Pick Litoral if your dates fall midweek and there are three of you or fewer. Pick Sky if you want the city landmarks and Montserrat on one flight and can fly Friday to Sunday.

Before you go

  • Where: the Heliport del Port de Barcelona (LEPB). The shared tickets list Moll Adossat 2 in the port area, and the meeting point can vary with the option you book. Hotel pickup is not listed.
  • Timing: the exact flight time is confirmed the day before, based on the weather. Shared slots run about 11:00 to 13:00 and 14:00 to 16:00; some private afternoon slots list about 15:00 to 17:00. Allow about 15 minutes for the safety briefing on shared tickets.
  • Bring: a passport or ID.
  • Who can fly: ages 2 and up. Maximum 130 kg (286 lb) per passenger. Above 110 kg (242 lb), you book two seats or pay a heliport surcharge, as shown when you book.
  • Cancellation: a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before departure. If weather cancels the flight, you are offered another time or a refund.
