Reunion Helicopter Tour: Piton de la Fournaise, Three Cirques or Full Island

A Reunion helicopter tour is how you see Piton de la Fournaise and the three cirques without days of hiking. From Saint-Pierre you may overfly caldera and lava country, Cirque de Cilaos, Cirque de Mafate and Cirque de Salazie, with Piton des Neiges when cloud allows — weather permitting throughout.

The Reunion hub has four shared scenic helicopters from Pierrefonds / Saint-Pierre Airport (FMEP): 25, 36, 45 or 55 minutes in the air. Coffee or tea with the pilot before take-off, and commentary in French and English, are listed when you book. No scenic landings — continuous overflights only.

Which Reunion helicopter tour to book

Want the volcano entry only? Take the 25-minute Fournaise flight. Want the cirque amphitheatres without the volcano sector? Book the 36-minute three-cirques route. For both, step up to 45 or 55 minutes.

Before you go

  • Where: hangar / meet-and-greet at Saint-Pierre Pierrefonds Airport, 142 Chemin de L Aerodrome, Saint-Pierre 97410. Hotel transfer is not included — make your own way. Arrive 30 minutes before your booked start with photo ID (passport or ID card; a copy is accepted on the full-island packing list). Exact start time is confirmed after booking.
  • Who can fly: a minimum age is not stated on these booking pages. Not suitable for people with claustrophobia, epilepsy, altitude sickness (where listed), or guests who have been diving within about 18–24 hours. Guests 28 weeks or more pregnant need a medical certificate with no contraindications.
  • Weight: not suitable over 120 kg (264 lbs). On the shorter volcano flight, guests over 110 kg may be offered an alternate date so the aircraft can be balanced.
  • Cancellation: free up to 2 days before for a full refund. Cirques and the volcano are often cloudier later in the day — morning slots are popular. If conditions are not suitable, follow the free-cancellation or rebooking policy on your booking.
