Moab Scenic Flight: Arches and Canyonlands National Parks by Airplane

A Moab scenic flight shows you the red-rock fins and spans of Arches National Park and the mesas and canyon country around Moab from a window seat, with live narration as you go. On the longer Canyonlands flight you may see Island in the Sky and Upheaval Dome, weather permitting.

The Moab / Canyonlands hub has three shared airplane flights from Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY), about 18 to 20 miles north of downtown Moab. All are continuous overflights, with no park landings and no rim hike stops.

Which Moab airplane tour to book

Want the famous park arches? Take the 30-minute park circuit. Prefer arches outside the core loop at the lowest price? Take the backcountry flight. Want the most air time? The 60-minute Canyonlands flight doubles it.

Before you go

  • Where: Canyonlands Field Airport (CNY), 94 W Aviation Way, Moab. You drive yourself; hotel pickup is not included. Allow extra time when you arrive at the airport. The exact start time is confirmed after booking. Bring a passport or photo ID as listed when you book.
  • Seats: window seats with live narration. Shared cabin capacity varies by tour, from about 5 to 15, and empty seats may be sold.
  • Minimum guests: the Canyonlands flight needs at least 2 people per booking. Some flights may also need at least two guests to operate, so solo bookings may be moved or cancelled.
  • Children: infants under 2 typically ride on a lap, and child bands usually start at age 2. Confirm ages when you book.
  • Weight: weight and sometimes height may be collected at booking. A public weight limit for airplane seats is not stated.
  • Cancellation: full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled start. Flights depend on weather and operations, and the arches and park features you see depend on the route, so flexible dates early in your stay help.
