Should I book in advance?
Yes. Weather on the peninsula can cancel a slot, and shared seats sell. Book ahead. Check in at the V&A helipad 30 minutes before departure. The operator flies the route, not the clock — timing varies with weather. Live dates are shown when you book.
Is there a minimum age?
There is no minimum age. A child over 2 needs their own seat. Infants sit on an adult's lap. Most flights need a minimum of two guests; the City Hopper can take a solo traveller on a shared flight when a seat is open. Check the tour page, or email hello@flyovertheworld.com.
Can I cancel or rebook?
Cancellation follows the policy shown when you book — currently free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. No-shows and changes inside 24 hours are charged in full. If the operator cancels for weather, you are rebooked or refunded as shown when you book.
What are the weight and health restrictions?
Everyone is seated for weight and balance; you do not choose a seat. Helicopters have per-seat and average limits; an upgrade surcharge can apply. Provide accurate dressed weights when you book, or email hello@flyovertheworld.com. No handbags in the cabin.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Your safety comes first, and we always aim for a pleasant experience. If weather conditions prevent the flight, we will contact you immediately to reschedule at no extra cost or offer a full refund. Our experienced pilots monitor conditions closely and have your contact details in case of last minute changes.
Where do flights depart?
Cape Town Helicopters flies from the V&A Waterfront Helistop, 36 East Pier Road, behind the Table Bay Hotel. Check in 30 minutes before your flight. Bring photo ID as the confirmation asks. Seats are set for weight and balance; no handbags in the cabin — lockers are free. Hotel pickup is included on some tickets; otherwise meet at the helipad. Live times are shown when you book.
