Everest Base Camp

See Everest Base Camp from the air — a scatter of tents on the Khumbu Glacier, the icefall above, Everest behind. From the trail it is a village of nylon; from a helicopter it is one camp at the foot of the face.

All three flights look down on it. The tour with landings offers a photo stop at Kala Patthar or the camp as an option — weather, and an extra charge. The breakfast tour is sold with a landing at Kala Patthar or a nearby pad, subject to weather and regulations. The private tour is sold with a Kala Patthar stop; it is not a promise you walk the camp.

You do not trek in and you do not overnight. You see the camp from the helicopter; a landing, if it happens, is a short stand for photos.

Those extra charges and the weather clause are the product truth: a ground stop at the camp is not the default on every ticket.
