You do not stay in Sausalito as the product. You look down on Tiburon and Belvedere on the seaplanes, then the dock. Free parking at the base. Houseboats are a look from the water, not a boarding. The drive from the city is over the Gate; leave extra time for 101.
The extra of paying more is more Bay, not a different town. Stay on the short helicopter if Alcatraz is enough. Take sunset if the hour and the glass are the point.
The Golden Gate is ten minutes south. Alcatraz and Angel Island sit in the water you cross. Muir Woods is inland Marin. Los Angeles is another coast from the air; this is the Gate.
Check in 30 minutes before. Photo ID if 18+. Weighed at check-in. Seaplane minimum three, often paired. Helicopter minimum as shown when you book. No food or drinks on board except the sunset glass.
