North Rim

See the North Rim from the air — the far wall of the canyon from the South Rim, Point Imperial at 8,803 feet, Marble Canyon where the Colorado narrows at the start of the cut, the Painted Desert and Desert View Watchtower upstream. From the South Rim village that wall is a haze. From the 45-minute helicopter it is a named stretch: you climb above the North Rim, then turn south.

Only the 45-minute South Rim overflight is built around this extra. After Kaibab and the river you take Marble Canyon and Point Imperial, then come south through the Dragon Corridor. The 25-minute Dancer reaches the North Rim as a look on the way to the corridor, not this longer loop. West Rim flights from Las Vegas never come here; they fly the west end, on Hualapai land.

You do not land on the North Rim and you do not drive there. This is a helicopter view, then back to the South Rim. Park rules keep the flight in the air. There is no floor landing in Grand Canyon National Park.

The extra over the Dancer is this east-and-north country: Marble Canyon, Point Imperial, the Painted Desert, the Watchtower, then the corridor home. Twenty-five minutes is the corridor and the river. Forty-five minutes is the canyon as a longer map, still without a landing.

The Colorado River is in both South Rim tickets. The West Rim landing is a different rim and a different day. There is no North Rim-only product on this location.

About 45 minutes in the air, Eco-Star, up to seven. Cloud on the North Rim can hide Point Imperial; the operator flies the weather. Still air-only. If you want a landing, that is a West Rim ticket from Las Vegas, not this overflight.

Book the 45-minute South Rim overflight and see the North Rim from the air.
