About 25–35 minutes in the air and about 15 minutes on the ground, 50–60 minutes all in, from Norðurflug at Reykjavik Domestic Airport (BIRK), east hangar. Shared flight, minimum two passengers. You fly Hellisheiði, see Nesjavallavirkjun and Hellisheiðarvirkjun from the air, and land in the Hengill geothermal area — remote ground, no boardwalk, hot springs and boiling mud. Hveragerði is named on the itinerary as that landing country; Seltún lava is a view from the air. Bláfjöll and Kristnitökuhraun are on the same run. Scenic pass over Reykjavik on the return. This is not the Esja summit landing, and it is not the Reykjanes lava flight. Hotel pickup is not included. Wear sturdy shoes.
