Cirque de Salazie is the verdant eastern amphitheatre of Reunion’s three cirques — lush ramparts, waterfall country and green slopes that contrast with drier walls elsewhere. From the valley road you see one cascade or ridge. From a shared helicopter the whole bowl can open under the rim when cloud allows. The Reunion Three Cirques 36-Minute Helicopter Tour is the shared three-cirques route: about 36 minutes in the air, from €270 per person. After meet-and-greet at Saint-Pierre Pierrefonds Airport you fly over Cirque de Cilaos, Cirque de Mafate and Cirque de Salazie. You may see verdant Salazie ramparts and views toward Piton des Neiges from neighbouring sectors. Named sights are route- and weather-dependent — you may see them rather than a guaranteed overflight.
