Piton des Neiges is Reunion’s highest peak — the dormant volcanic massif that rises above the three cirques. From hiking trails you see one face at a time. From a shared helicopter the summit may appear above Cirque de Cilaos or neighbouring ramparts when visibility is clear. On the Reunion hub it is a may-see peak on cirque and full-island flights, never a summit landing.
The Reunion Volcanoes and Cirques 45-Minute Helicopter Tour is the primary shared ticket that frames the peak with volcano and cirque country: about 45 minutes in the air, from €325 per person. After the airport meet-and-greet you fly an essentials route over Cirque de Cilaos, Cirque de Mafate and Cirque de Salazie plus volcano-sector views toward Piton de la Fournaise. You may also see Piton Maïdo, Bridal Veil Falls, Trou de Fer or Béouve Forest as listed. Named sights are route- and weather-dependent — you may see them rather than a guaranteed overflight. A live eruption is never promised.
The Reunion Three Cirques 36-Minute Helicopter Tour (about 36 minutes, from €270) already names Piton des Neiges among possible views from the Cilaos sector on the three-cirques flight. The Reunion Full Island 55-Minute Helicopter Tour (about 55 minutes, from €365) is the full-island circuit that can include the peak with all three cirques and Fournaise. The short Reunion Piton de la Fournaise 25-Minute Helicopter Tour (about 25 minutes, from €215) focuses on the active volcano rather than the Neiges massif.
Do not expect a hover on the summit or a guaranteed clear peak every day. Cloud on high ground is common. These flights return to Pierrefonds / Saint-Pierre Airport; accommodation transfer is not included.
