Trolltunga is a thin rock tongue above Lake Ringedal, the postcard ledge hikers queue hours to stand on. From a Bergen seaplane you never set foot on it. You see the platform from the air, about 700 metres above the lake, on a private circuit out of Sandviken that also runs Hardangerfjord<\/a>, Folgefonna<\/a>, and western Hardangervidda before returning for a water landing. The point of this flight is the ledge in the window, not a hike to its surface or a landing on the rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Only the Bergen Trolltunga, Hardangerfjord and Folgefonna 80-Minute Seaplane Tour<\/a> is built around this rock. The flight lasts about 80 minutes in a Cessna 206, from NOK 22,233 per private flight for up to four passengers, ages 2 and up. Live times and the from-price show when you book. The shared 60-minute Hardangerfjord and Folgefonna Glacier tour<\/a> covers fjord and glacier without the ledge, and the 35-minute Fjord and Mountain tour<\/a> stays on Bergen’s own harbour, Osterfjord, and mountains. This is Trolltunga from the air only. You do not land at the rock, hike the trail, or stand on the ledge, and there is no intermediate fjord or glacier stop either: scenic overflight, then a water landing back at the Sandviken seaplane base. Bring accurate passenger weights; caps are 340 kg total and 120 kg per person on the Cessna 206. Western Norway weather can block the Hardanger path even when the city harbour looks calm, so the refund rules matter: full refund if weather cancels the flight, and full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lake Ringedal is the water under the ledge on this private path. Folgefonna here is Norway’s third-largest glacier, about 1,700 metres high, and Hardangerfjord is Norway’s second-longest fjord; both sit earlier on the same circuit and also on the shared 60-minute ticket. Western Hardangervidda views follow as the path allows after the rock. Bergen Fishmarket<\/a> and the city centre frame the return on all three Bergen<\/a> Experiences, while Ulriken<\/a> belongs to the short city circuit rather than this private Hardanger run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your reason for flying is the rock tongue itself, the private ticket is the one that matches that goal. If Hardangerfjord and Folgefonna are enough without Trolltunga, the shared 60-minute Experience is the closer fit on time and price. If you mainly want Bergen harbour, the northern archipelago, Osterfjord, and Ulriken, stay with the 35-minute shared flight. The ladder on the Bergen<\/a> hub stays consistent: city first, then fjord and glacier, then the private ledge flight when the rock is why you booked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flights leave Sandviken at Kristiansholm 8, 5035 Bergen, by the Fisheries Museum pier. Arrive 15 minutes before when you arrange your own transport; optional minibus pickup is available on request.
